Biography

Maddie is an expert communicator and brings a breadth of editorial, project management and community-building skills to the OLH cause. She uses her natural warmth and expertise in the humanities to take excellent care of our journals, helping to ensure the smooth running of editorial, technical and marketing processes across the OLH.

Maddie holds a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Warwick, where she taught at the Institute of Advanced Teaching and Learning, and previously worked in participatory arts community outreach for the Glasshouse International Centre for Music. She has experience working with New Writing North and the European Network for Short Fiction Research, and takes pride in working to make humanities research truly accessible for all.

In her spare time, Maddie enjoys sea swimming, wild walks, and beachcombing for sea glass along the northeast coast of England. She once trained as a chocolatier, has an easy-going Bedlington Terrier called Claude, and has somehow managed to successfully avoid playing Wordle for nearly half a decade.
